IUI Done!

I had my IUI done on Friday, 2-8-13. This was a very different process from my previous IUI's (The last one I had was Sept 2011). They did sperm washing this time. So, only the really good swimmers were the keepers & were injected. The doctor was very happy with the number of good swimmers present before & after the washing. My abdomen was extremely tender the whole weekend & then slightly tender on Monday. I ovulated the day after my IUI. I had a nice big temperature change. I started taking 200mg of progesterone last night. So, now we wait. I have orders for lab work on Friday to check my HCG & progesterone levels.

Hopefully the washing is the key! That and perfect timing! I'll be looking for updates!

Abbreviations

This is a list of commonly used abbreviations I use:

2WW--Two Week Wait (This is the 2 week period of time from when you ovulate to when your period arrives)

AF--Aunt Flow ( a woman’s period, that time of the month)

Appt(s) -- appointment(s)

BBT--Basal Body Temperature (your temperature upon waking up & not yet getting out of bed)

BC/BCP--Birth Control or Birth Control Pill

BD,DTD, or “deposit”--Baby Dance or Do The Deed (aka have sex)

BFN--Big Fat Negative (a negative test, either pregnancy or OPK)

BFP--Big Fat Positive (a positive test, either pregnancy or OPK)

CD--Cycle Day

CM--Cervical Mucus

DPO--Days Past Ovulation

EDD--Estimated Due Date

EPT digi--Error Proof Test Digital (brand of pregnancy test)

FF --Fertility Friend (the website I chart my temperature on, you can find a link at the bottom of my blog)

FMU --Morning Urine

FRER-- First Response Early Result (a brand of pregnancy tests)

FX--fingers crossed

hema--hematologist-aka the blood doctor

hcg --Human Chorionic Gonadotropin

IC--Internet cheapie (tests that you can buy online for as low as $0.50 each & they are VERY sensitive)

IPS-- Imaginary Pregnancy Symptoms

ish-- around that time/day/month etc. Meaning give or take a couple. example- Let's meet at 6ish. (let's meet at 6 give or take a few minutes).

IUI--Intrauterine Insemination

IVF--In vitro Fertilization

LMP -- Last Menstrual Period (start date of your period)
LP --Luteal Phase(the days of your cycle after you ovulate)

LTTTC--Long Term Trying to Conceive

m/c--Miscarriage or pregancy loss

O--Ovulation/Ovulate

OPK--Ovulation Predictor Kit

PITA -- Pain In The Ass

POAS--Pee on a Stick (refers to peeing on a pregnancy or OPK test)
